To beginnings!

Lake Atitlan is such a stunning space to start a new chapter in your story and I'd be thrilled to capture this beautiful season for the two of you! After countless proposals on the lake, here are a few of my favorite spots that I've had the privilege to photograph, along with some notes on particular fees and requirements for each spot.

Hotel Atitlan, Panajachel

Hotel Atitlan is one of my favorite spots on the lake with its extensively beautiful gardens and incredible views of the lake! They have access to docks, a helipad, and beautiful gardens year round that is one of the best-kept gardens in all of Guatemala.

Special note: There is a $250 photographer permit for any photography or videography to take place on the grounds.

Casa del Mundo, Jaibalito

This hotel is truly a magical cliffside gem. It hosts a beautiful garden, restaurant, and so many relaxing nooks that make it a great contender. In front of gorgeous cliffs and 3 volcanoes, the scenery invites you in to enjoy this slice of paradise.

Special note: If you are staying here, you will have free access to all the facilities, but if you're not, you'll have to pay a day pass, which is usually 50q ($7) per person. Also, depending on the season, they might not allow day passes, so it is best to book a room there or reserve a lunch reservation and ask for access to the gardens/ swimming area.

Casa Prana, Santa Cruz

Casa Prana is a stunning hotel that is genuinely one of most stunning spaces at the lake. It boasts significantly impressive gardens, three different docks, and interiors that speak to the creative within you.

Special note: You have to be booked at this hotel to be able to shoot here.

Reserva Natural Cerro Tzankujil, San Marcos

There is a reason everyone gravitates towards this nature reserve in San Marcos- with a plethora of nooks- you can really find a great spot that is hidden and secluded for the two of you!

Special note: There is a 20q ($3) entrance fee. This is a public space so I recommend coming here in the morning between 8-9am.

Private Airbnb Docks

Some gorgeous Airbnbs have private docks all around the lake! I recommend looking for Airbnbs with docks in the villages of Santa Cruz, Jaibalito, Tzununa, and San Marcos.

Check out Alas del Angel (San Marcos),  La Vista Maya (Tzununa), Lux Lakefront B+B (Cerro de Oro), and Casa Pamakanya (Jaibalito).
